- In 1991, St. John’s School of Nursing became St. John’s College. Students at St. John’s College can now receive a bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing. Prior to their immersion in nursing theory and practice at St. John’s College, students can study the arts and sciences at a variety of schools and universities.

Degree eligibility requirements

- Students who graduate in the summer are eligible to participate in the May ceremony.
- Students in the accelerated program are eligible to attend the December ceremony.
- Students in the RN-BSN program may attend the May, or December ceremonies, depending on when they complete the program.
- Within four years of enrolling in college, all graduation requirements must be completed. Students who are about to graduate must submit a graduation application.
Master of eligibility requirements
To be eligible for a master of science in nursing degree, a student must satisfactorily meet both the general requirements of the master’s program and the specific requirements of the specialty track in which they are enrolled.
Specific requirements include:
- The Nurse Practitioner track requires 45 semester hours, including clinical requirements.
- The Nurse Administration and Leadership track requires 38 hours of study time, including clinical prerequisites.
- Achieve a minimum 3.0 GPA in all of the college’s courses. For courses with a grade of less than a B, credit hours toward the degree are not provided. The grade point average is calculated using all grades.
- Before applying for graduation, be sure you’re free of any financial or institutional restraints.
- Students who graduate in the summer might attend commencement ceremonies in May or December.
