Film, also called movie or motion picture, is a medium used to simulate experiences that communicate ideas, stories, perceptions, feelings, beauty or atmosphere by the means of recorded or programmed moving images along with other sensory stimulations. The word “cinema“, short for cinematography, is often used to refer to filmmaking and the film industry, and to the art form that is the result of it.

The moving images of a film are created by photographing actual scenes with a motion-picture camera, by photographing drawings or miniature models using traditional animation techniques, by means of CGI and computer animation, or by a combination of some or all of these techniques, and other visual effects.

Traditionally, films were recorded onto celluloid film through a photochemical process and then shown through a movie projector onto a large screen. Contemporary films are often fully digital through the entire process of production, distribution, and exhibition, while films recorded in a photochemical form traditionally included an analogous optical soundtrack (a graphic recording of the spoken words, music and other sounds that accompany the images which runs along a portion of the film exclusively reserved for it, and is not projected).

I relocated from my hometown East London to Johannesburg to further my career. There are such many opportunities in the field and in South Africa few Black Women in the fast growing Industry. 3. Hi I am in need for a bursary to study for a BA in Motion Picture in AFDA Johannesburg and my family is not able to pay for the school fees. This will be for the year 2022.Film has been my passion for a very long time and to be able to create my own films would be a dream come true. The fees for housing can be handled by my mother as she is working but my father is unemployed so it is not possible for the both of them to pay for the school fees there. Recieving a bursary would mean the world to me as I strive to improve the film industry in South Africa. I see alot of talent in South African youth and see a need for more children shows and movies in our country.

  4. Hi .I’m Banele Maseko
I’m a first year student at AFDA and currently enrolled Undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in motion picture medium
I’m hereby asking for a financial assistance to pursue my studies
My mother is the only guardian as I’ve lost my father in 2014 whom I’ve gained the knowledge and love of television from him.He was the best freelancer and that kept me studying harder in order to become one of the best
I’ve passed with bachelor degree and with this motivation I’m willing to fly high and make my passion for television exciting.
My mum is trying to also look after my sibling who is at grade 10 now and all this is putting a strain on her as she wants to see us fulfilling our dreams.
I would be assisting other kids after completing my degree as I see a lot of talent and unemployment in our country.
I would be very happy to receive feedback
    Kind regards
