The State Information Technology Agency (SITA) was founded in in 1999 with the aim of coordinating and consolidating the information technology resources of the State to save costs and increase interoperability and delivery.

SITA will be awarding 280 ICT bursaries to students pursuing their studies within the following fields:

• Information Technology (Computer Science/ Engineering/ Engineering and Data Analytics/ Robotics/ etc)
• Applied Sciences (Biotechnology/ Environmental Science/ etc)
• Other non-technology and non-science studies (Social Studies/ Agriculture – core subjects must be enhanced with technology studies)

The bursary will cover the following expenses: tuition fees, accommodation, meal allowance and transport – to the total value of R124 400 per student/ per annum.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

• South African citizen
• Completed Matric
• Studying within one of the aforementioned ICT-related fields of study
• Studying at a recognised tertiary institution within South Africa
