PROGRAMMES AVAILABLE IN THE COLLEGE AND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:-

1 ONE YEAR REMEDIAL PROGRAMME

Evidence of attempt in WASCE/GCE/SSCE/NABTEB/TCII or equivalent with at least a pass in one or mere subject.

2 [A] PRELIMINARY NCE SCIENCE EDUCATION

[i] WASCE/GCE ordinary level SSCE with at least 4 [four] passes in English Language, Mathematics, and two other relevant subjects such as Physics, Biology, Agric. Science, Chemistry, Economic Computer, Technical Drawing, Woodwork, Metal Work, Basic Electronics, Applied Electricity and Auto-Mechanics.

[ii] Grade II Teachers certificate with passes in English Language, Mathematics, Integrated/General Science and any other subject.

[iii] City and Guides/WAEC Technical/Craft Intermediate part II/Course B Certificate in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Trade respectively, plus Federal Craft Certificate [FCC] with at least credit or passes in four academic subject including Mathematics, Science, English Language and Social Studies.

2 [B] PRELIMINARY NCE [BUSINESS EDUCATION

[i] WASCE/GCE ordinary level/SSCE or equivalent with four [4] passes at one sitting or five [5] passes at two sitting including English Language, Mathematics and any two business subject from the following:-

Business Methods

Typewriting

Accounting

Economics

Shorthand

[ii] Grade II Teachers Certificate with passes in English Language, Mathematics/Arithmetic process. Integrated/General Science plus Social Studies and Geography.

2[C] PRE-NCE LANGUAGE EDUCATION

Minimum of 4 ‘O’ level passes including English/Maths. Two of the passes must be relevant to proposed course of study.

03/04 NIGERIAN CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION [NCE]

This is a three year programme leading to the award of NCE.

Candidates wishing to be considered for admission must pass the college preliminary NCE-sessional Examination or must attain an acceptable level of performance of the polytechnics and colleges of education minimum standard in one of these examination.

5 [i] GCE ‘O’ level or SSCE pass in at least five [5] subjects at one sitting three [3] of which must be at credit level, or four [4] credit at two sittings.

5 [ii] GCE II Teacher Certificate [TCII] with credit or merit passes in at least three [3] subjects. The subjects must include Mathematics/Arithmetic’s and two [2] Physical Science subjects.

5 [B] [iii] City and Guides, WAEC Technical/Intermediate part II/Course Certificate and [FCC] with at least credit level passes in four [4] academic subjects including Mathematics, Science, English Language.

5 [iv] WEAC [Commercial] of RSA state II Group Certificate with passes in five [5] subjects not more than two [2] sittings. The passes should include English Language and two [2] subjects Relevant to the course of study.

5 [vi] NABTEB or Any other equivalent qualification. Candidates should note that:-

a. At least two [2] of the credits must be relevant to the proposed course of study.

b. At least a credit in English language is required for all course in the school of Business Education.

c. A credit in Mathematics is required for all courses in the school of technical and Vocational Educational.

6 PROFFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION [PDE]

This is a one [1] year course aimed at providing Teaching qualification to those who do not have NCE or other Teaching Certificates

Admission is open to candidates with acceptable qualification some of which includes the following:-

[i] University Degree of professional qualification in relevant field.

[HND] of an accredited polytechnic or College of Technology.

[ii] Ordinary National Diploma [OND], Higher National Diploma [HND] of an accredited Polytechnic or College of Technology.

[iii] WAEC Advanced level, [final or full] or Technological Certificate of City and Guids of London in Engineering Trade.

[iv] WAEC/GCE/Ordinary level, SSCE or equivalent qualification with passes in English language together with a recognized Certificate in shorthand/Typewriting [100/50WPM].
